Openlab4 – A Night of Free Everything

Here in the European heart of global finance that is London, there are no shortage of closed, corporate-sponsored, invite-only events promoting proprietary products with secret formulas and patented ideas. A refreshing break from this trend is the perennial [tag]Openlab[/tag] series of events, now in its fourth incarnation. Openlab is a loose collective of artists, computer industry professionals, and performers whose main goal is to spread free software an ideas through events with talks, workshops, and performances.

Openlab4 took place 25 November at Melange, an aspiring art-friendly venue just north of east London’s art-clogged arteries of Old Street and Shoreditch. Continue reading →

video – Immersion 4 Oct 2007 Set 2 with Duskrider

This is my favorite set so far. The audio and video are so tightly wound in this performance that you couldn’t slide a nanowire in between them. I was hypnotized; the images just seemed to pour straight out of my mind onto the blank projection screen. Dammit, this set had atmosphere. Big thanks to Duskrider for that.

I really liked this set. The whole night started off with some great, soundtrack-style, moody electronic soundscapes courtesy of Duskrider and I brought some dark, video destroying software to match.

As always, starting around 7pm and lasting until 11:30pm, on 6 December 2007 PixelPusher will be generating and performing live visuals with with Transphormetic and possibly yesyesnono for a night of soundscapes and experimental music as part of the ever-popular, on-going Immersion series at The Flea-Pit, London E2.

Another Immersion night for PixelPusher. Starting at 7pm until 11:30pm, on 4 October 2007 I will be playing visuals with with yesyesnono and Mr. Prudence for a night of soundscapes and experimental music as part of the ever-popular, on-going Immersion series at The Flea-Pit, London E2, 7-11pm. This time, I’ll be using video footage from fellow NYC-based video artist, Pamela Vitale.
